STINGA test instruments for Next Generation Network testing delivered in Scandinavia

Drammen (Norway), April 30th, 2003: Several carriers and test centres order test instruments for next generation network (NGN) testing from Utel Systems

The Norwegian operator Telenor Networks has recently ordered the new NGN test instruments from Utel Systems called "STINGA". The instruments will support Telenor in their efforts to maintain the network and service quality when moving from conventional to the NGN technologies. Initially the instruments will be used to test different ATM-based signalling protocols (like BICC and PNNI) on the Ericsson ENGINE platform. Using the already existing in-house platform of instruments from Utel Systems, Telenor will be able to test the signalling gateways between the new and conventional technologies.

Also different customers in Sweden have ordered the new STINGA instrument. "The requirements for protocol support varies but BICC is the most requested protocol", says Henning Bakken, Sales Manager in Utel Systems.
