Utel Systems has a PC-based portfolio of cost-efficient test instruments called STINGA - both notebook, desktop and rack-based solutions. Windows-based software modules for protocol simulation and protocol analysis are available, and Conformance Test Suite Frameworks are included with the simulator products.

STINGA protocol analysers & simulator:

Highly Portable
The test instruments are delivered with one or more PIST PCMCIA or PIST PCI cards with E1/T1 or STM-1 line interfaces. With these hardware components, highly portable protocol simulators and monitors, dekstop protocol simulators and monitors, and rack-based monitoring probes are supported.

Windows-based
All software and hardware components are running on standard notebook and desktop computers with Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Same Hardware and User Interfaces for all Products
All test instruments from Utel Systems are based on the same Windows user interface framework: The user do not have to focus on how to use different applications - full focus on different protocols and network technologies is use.

Simultaneously Protocol Simulation & Analysis
Different protocol simulators and analysers can easily be used together on the same computer simultaneously. E.g. by installing two PIST PCMCIA cards in one notebook, it is possible to use both cards to monitor two E1/T1 line interfaces or to use one card for protocol analysis and the other for protocol simulation. A combination of SS7, BICC, V5 and ISDN PRA test instruments are supported with the E1/T1 interface cards.

Conformance Test Suite Frameworks
Conformance Test Suite Frameworks are included with the STINGA SS7 and STINGA ISDN PRA simulator products. These frameworks contains a large number of test scripts based on test specifications from ITU-T and Eurescom. The test scripts within these test suites can be used as templates for new customer made test scripts.
