• The simulators interact with each other (e.g. a Megaco message to the Megaco Simulator can trigger messages from the PNNI Simulator).

• Individual simulator: The simulator can be used individually for each protocol, i.e. when receiving messages the simulator will generate messages according to specified protocol. The simulator supports auto script for maintenance functions in the protocols.
• Multi protocol simulation: The different protocols (i.e. Megaco and PNNI) interact with each other inside one simulator. The interactions between the protocols are controlled by scripts. As an example, the PNNI simulator can be triggered by an incoming message to the Megaco simulator.
